As a driver in Philadelphia, there are a number of things you are required to do. You have to have a license, for example. And you need to be properly insured. To be a safe driver, you need to do things like wear your seatbelt and follow the driving laws and rules. It is also always a good idea to pay for auto repair needs. But are there things you can ignore from time to time when you don’t have the chance to get them done? Here are a few items you can ignore, at least for a little while.

Washer Fluid

As long as it isn’t going to rain or snow and you aren’t going to be driving in dusty areas, being out of washer fluid isn’t the end of the world. If your windshield gets too dirty, you can always pull over. Washer fluid is something you always want to have on hand if at all possible, but driving without it isn’t unsafe as long as your windshield isn’t too dirty. When it comes to an auto repair, washer fluid outages are pretty minor.

Cabin Air Filters

The air filters on your vehicle do a lot of different things, but if you visit the shop for an oil change and the technicians tell you that you might need new cabin air filters as well, that’s an auto repair you can probably put off for now. It won’t immediately damage your vehicle, and it’s not something that is going to prevent your car from operating correctly either.

Body Damage

As far as auto repairs go, you don’t really ever have to fix some types of body damage. Your car may not look nice, but it can still run just as well with dents and scratches. These auto repair items are aesthetic and aren’t dangerous to you or the vehicles around you. They are only dangerous to the overall resale value of your vehicle.

Tire Rotations

Most technicians recommend that you have your tires rotated every other oil change so the tires wear evenly. If you don’t have time for that process during a particular oil change, you can skip it and your vehicle will run just fine. Your tires may wear out faster in certain areas, but as long as you do it sometimes, it won’t be too big of a deal.

On the other hand, there are auto repair items that you never ignore. Make sure you pay attention to your vehicle and listen for changes so you are driving in a manner that is as safe as possible for you and those around you.
