Michael Schafer
Owner
I started in this shop in 1999 and never looked back. I worked my way up from oil change lube tech to an ASE Certified Master Technician in 2007 where I was the lead tech for 8 more years. I became assistant manager in 2010 and manager in 2012. I finally took over the business in 2014. I enjoy bringing my boys (I have three) down on the weekends and having them help fix our cars, in the hope that someday they will take over my position.
Jennifer Rowley

Has more than 20 years of management experience. Jenn is a South Philly native and still resides here. Customer satisfaction and care are number one for her. Schafer’s was able to steal her in mid-2020 to help lift this business to a new level of customer service experience.
George Garber

OUR HISTORY
Started in 1954 by Wilhelm Schafer, Schafer’s muffler and brake was started as a small repair garage in its original location on hunting park ave, rebuilding starters and alternators.
In the upcoming years Schafer’s would slowly but gradually expand in the field of automotive repair and by 1962 opened its first full service repair facility.
In 1975 Schafer's moved to their next location on Whitaker and Luzerne in the north Philadelphia area of Philadelphia.
Schafer’s would stay a small one location branch until 1990 when they purchased a second location in south Philadelphia in a shopping plaza at the corner of Delaware ave and tasker St. Together the two locations thrived in the fast moving and ever changing automotive field.
In 2002 Schafer’s made the decision to purchase an old truck repair facility on Columbus Blvd. and Snyder ave. with 8800 sq. feet the decision was made to close down the Whitaker and Luzerne location and combine the two into the new location.
